How to Become a Patient Caregiver in NV

Medical Marijuana card holders in Nevada may opt to have a designated caregiver. It’s important to let your doctor know during your evaluation if this is the case. You will need their signed approval. When you submit your application to the state portal there is an option to click “I will have a caregiver.” Follow the prompts provided.

Caregivers must 

  • Be 18 years or older

  • Be issued an official medical marijuana ID card on behalf of the patient

  • Be approved by the physician

  • Provide their valid driver’s license or government issued ID

Caregivers must not

  • Be assigned to more than one patient, and each patient may only have one caregiver

  • Be the attending physician

  • Be a cardholder themselves

Caregivers subject to the same laws and limits that apply medical marijuana patients. All applications fees must be paid and they must renew their application annually.
